Club Corner

By Nora Gregory
Welcome to Club Corner. Are you ready to join Bradley Beach clubs? BBES has many amazing clubs that are just right for you. If you are interested, join some and have some fun during and after school.
A great club for you may be the Drama Club. They meet in the auditorium after school. This club is starting in only a few weeks. One of the many amazing teachers in this school helps with the play — Mrs. Zaccaro. These plays are a fun way to practice singing, dancing, and presenting. Every year, Mrs. Zaccaro picks out a play and you get to be a part of it. There were many different fun plays like The Bandstand and Dear Edwina. Be ready for an awesome year. Maybe you could join the show!
The environment is one of the most important things in the world. Do you care about the environment? Well if you do come on over to the Environmental Club. In this special club you will learn about environmental changes, and at the end of the year you will go on a field trip. In this club you will do public speaking, beach sweeps, and participate in many celebrations. This year Miss Ross and Mrs. Wilson are hosting. Last year the Environmental Club made a video about recycling which is very popular in Bradley Beach. See it here. The club usually meets on Fridays before school at 8 am.
Have you heard of the Newspaper Club? Many people, along with me, write these elaborate articles for the whole school. These fun stories are spread throughout our school. You can write and learn about what’s happening here in BBES. There are many columns that you can choose from depending on your preferences. You may find some of our articles interesting. We currently have 14 members — five eighth graders and nine seventh graders. Some of the school’s top students belong to Newspaper Club.
This club is one of my personal favorites. It is the Student Government Club. This club allows you to help set up for many of BBES school dances. There are many positions in the Student Government Club. You will be selected during the school year. This club is a fun way to interact with other classmates and older or younger kids in the school. Student Government have already done many fundraisers, like, during the month of October, members collected socks for people in need. This drive is also known as “Socktober.” In November student government collected pet supplies for the Monmouth County SPCA, said club advisor Miss Girard.
These clubs are so much fun, and at the end of the year you can get a certificate for participating in these clubs. I always feel honored when the principal says my name in front of the whole school. These clubs aren’t just for learning, you also communicate with others, possibly making friends. A lot of people leave Bradley Beach and have participated in many of the numerous clubs.
