Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Siege: A Video Game Review

Do you like intense first-person shooters with tons of strategies? Well, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Siege is for you. The game is about you playing counter-terrorists or terrorists as you defend a bomb, hostage, and secure an area. You play with five people on your team defending those objectives or eliminate the enemy team. As every round goes by, the tension grows bigger as your team may be losing and its match point and you have to clutch up a 1 v 5.

The game is adapted from a book — a thriller by Tom Clancy called Rainbow Six.

There are ways to go about the game. You could live on the edge and rush objectives, or camp in a corner waiting for the action to sprout. That’s the best part of Rainbow is that you can play however you want to if you have a good team and operators. The name of the game is to be either the best on your team with the most kills to brag that your MVP or take it slow and steady and get 1-2 kills. As a warning, you can team kill someone. Joker: A Review

“All my life I thought I was a tragedy. Now I know I’m a comedy.” 

Joker was by far one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing performance. He lost 52 pounds for the role.  Another famous actor who had a big role was Robert De Niro as Murray Franklin. This movie was the first of its kind and was not a remake. It’s about how Arthur Franklin became the criminal mastermind, the Joker, Batman’s arch-nemesis. It shows how his life in Gotham City affected the way he treated other people. Arthur found out things about his childhood that changed him forever and made him evil. 

I liked how it showed how he had such a sad life and how he wasn’t really that bad of a person. He was really just misunderstood. He became a villain because he was mad about a lot of things. I didn’t like that it was so violent because in some scenes it was overly graphic. I saw the movie with my grandpa and he loved it but agreed with me it was too violent. 

I would recommend it to kids who are mature enough to understand the plot. It was rated R. I would give this movie 5 stars because it had a great plot twist at the end and it was the best performance of the Joker I’ve ever seen.

Is TikTok Here to Stay?

“Hit or miss. I guess they never miss huh?”

TikTok is the new Musical.ly that we all remember from 2014. And if you don’t remember it, here is a little refresher: It is an app that allows you to make short videos, usually weird lip syncs, and other fun things. TikTok bought musically from Lu Yu Yang and Alex Zhu in August first of 2018. ByteDance (the company that owns these apps) merged the two apps but is keeping the Musical.ly layout but the Tik Tok name. Read more

Let’s Talk Trench: A Music Review

After a year-long hiatus filled with cryptic messages for their fans to decipher, Twenty-One Pilots came back with a new album Trench, released on October 5. The fan base went berserk when the artists got back from their hiatus, expecting new music. The album consists of 14 songs: “Jumpsuit,” “Levitate,” “Morph,” “My Blood,” “Chlorine,” “Smithereens,” “Neon Gravestones,” “The Hype,” “Nico and the Niners,” “Cut My Lip,” “Bandito,” “Pet Cheetah,” “Legend,” and “Leave the City.”

Detroit: Become Human is Highly Recommended: A Video Game Review

Detroit: Become Human is a PS4 exclusive story game that mainly takes place in Detroit, Michigan, during the year 2038. Its main pitch is that it’s a game where your choices REALLY matter. The premise of the game is that androids (advanced, human-like robots) start to develop feelings and emotions, which could be because most of the humans in the game treat them unfairly because of who they are. Library Art Show

Seventh graders Sophia Li, Iyanna Smith, and Betzayda Ruiz Aparicio won the annual library art show essay contest for their lovely pieces about artwork that inspired them. They received savings accounts at Kearny Bank, and gift certificates to Words! Bookstore in Asbury Park.

Manga Alert

If you are wondering where the Bradley Beach Public Library got the idea to buy all these great new manga titles, well you can thank our own Kyel Guerrero of 7S. Back in February, Karin Finnegan, the library’s director of children’s services, asked Mrs. Sucato for a list of manga titles that she would recommend for middle schoolers. So Mrs. Sucato asked Kyel, an avid reader, manga fan, and library member, to put together a list. “He is my go-to guy this year for talking about manga. He knows a lot!” Mrs. Sucato said. Mrs. Finnegan bought all the titles on the list, and they became the foundation of the library’s growing manga and graphic novels collection. Thanks, Kyel!
