Book Swap Bonanza

The first ever BBES “book swap” was held during Night at the Museum on April 12. Students chose from a large selection of books to take home and keep. It was like a Scholastic book fair, but free! Thank you to our reading specialist Mrs. Guzzi for organizing this wonderful event. The Bridge of Books Foundation donated 400 chapter books, and teachers and students donated many more.

The Bradley Beach business district was bedecked with student artwork for Cinco de Mayo this year. Kearny Bank, Panchos and Juanchos, Present, and Stockroom Modern General Store all displayed BBES student artwork in the project organized by art teacher, Mrs. DiZefalo. Fourth graders made adobe puebla pastel drawings, painted Frida Kahlo portraits and created tissue paper flowers. Fifth graders drew Aztec gods and warriors.
Opinion: Chromebooks Should be Used in Moderation

Chromebooks! These small devices we students always carry during our school hours. Currently, our school allows most students to use these devices as they wish during free time homeroom, recess and lunch. During these free periods, many students can download games or files and have fun, which isn’t a bad thing, but playing games has to be monitored and used in moderation.

Dear Raul,
Sometimes I wonder what my friends think of me, and whether they think of me as a person they enjoy having around. Like, if I wasn’t there, and someone asked them their opinion of me, would they say stuff about me that I wouldn’t like? Or would it be stuff that is positive? I can’t help but feel insecure about what other people may be saying about me.

Talent Show Wows With Variety

The lights dim, the MCs enter the stage, and everyone is watching. This year’s talent show was amazing, and I’m sure many would agree. It had everything from art being made live to amazing dance performances. The Young YouTubers of BBES

Surfing, trap music, and video games are some of the specialities of the young YouTubers of BBES. In this article, find out about three of our up and coming YouTubers, and get their links.
First check out “DEVIN WIGGINS,” the channel made by eighth grader — you guessed it — Devin Wiggins. It focuses on trap music, which is a hip hop music sub-genre that originated during the 1990s in the South. Devin, who takes his music career very seriously, loves the art form, and has always enjoyed music. He has been making and singing songs ever since he was a little boy. His music varies from a calm, slow tune to a fast-paced, heart-racing beat. His YouTube channel, which currently has 10 subscribers, consists of 34 videos that I really suggest you go check out. His songs are all original and were made using the Soundtrap app. Devin has always said that if you keep trying, all of that work will pay off. All in all, Devin’s YouTube channel is really great if you want to listen to a diverse collection of songs. I really would suggest you go check it out here. Read more
